Silicon Valley Friends of Ferals

Colonies Managed by SVFF

Silicon Valley Friends of Ferals is currently managing (or has provided TTVAR intervention in) the following feral cat colonies:

San Jose #1

This colony is located in a residential area of San Jose, near a church and some apartment complexes. To date, between two and three dozen cats have been handled through our TTVAR program, several have been tamed and rescued into adoptive homes, and a small number (3) have been euthanized for FIV infections.

San Jose #2

This colony is located at the edge of a creek running behind a small office building. Sadly, many of these cats were infected with FeLV or both FeLV and FIV. SVFF has handled 6 cats from this colony, returning 1 uninfected cat to the site after TTVAR.

San Jose #3

This colony was located in the parking lot of a shopping center containing a supermarket, pharmacy and several other stores. 4 cats were trapped in this colony, 3 of which were relocated to a new area because the high traffic of the area made it a poor choice for re-release. The fourth was found to be tame, and was placed in an adoptive home.

Sunnyvale #1

This colony is located along an alley running between several business and bars along a major road on one side, and homes on the other side. 9 cats from this colony have been through SVFF's TTVAR program, including 1 cat adopted by an indigent person living in the area, and one young kitten (probably abandoned) rescued into an adoptive home before it became feral.

Sunnyvale #2

Located in an apartment complex just across the street from our Sunnyvale 1 colony, this "colony" actually consists of just one mother cat that recently gave birth. The mother was recently spayed and returned to the site, while her two kittens were been captured, tamed and placed in adoptive homes.

Silicon Valley Friends of Ferals does not operate for profit, but does not have 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.
